Law enforcement officials have launched an intensive manhunt for an Arizona man who allegedly threatened to assassinate former President Donald Trump during his visit to the southern border on Thursday.
Authorities in Arizona are pursuing convicted sex offender Ronald Lee Silvad on multiple outstanding arrest warrants and charges that he made death threats against Trump during the former president’s visit to the southern border in Cochise County. Daily Mail.
Trump was visiting the border town of Sierra Vista, where his running mate, J.D. Vance, visited three weeks ago.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook: post“Silvudo is wanted as the lead investigator into a case of death threats against a presidential candidate.”
Police noted that the suspect’s outstanding arrest warrants include charges of DUI and failure to appear in court in Wisconsin, failure to register as a sex offender and a felony hit-and-run in Arizona.
Police said Silvud lives in Benson, Arizona, about 50 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border and about 50 miles southeast of Tucson.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office described Schild as a 66-year-old white male, wearing glasses, 6 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds.
Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to contact their local law enforcement agency or call 911.

The latest threat against the former president comes just six weeks after Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump has held just one outdoor rally since the July 13 assassination attempt, at an outdoor campaign rally in North Carolina on Wednesday where he appeared behind bulletproof glass.
