Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed the Republican because Vice President Kamala Harris is a far-left winger.
“What do you think about Republicans speaking at the Democratic Convention?” host Jonathan Karl asked.
“My view is that Trump Derangement Syndrome is real. But what most Americans remember is that we enjoyed peace and prosperity. Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, everything turned to hell. That’s the stark contrast. This election is unusual because President Trump has been president before. The American people know what he’s done. They know he understands the pain they’ve endured over the past four years under Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. That’s why I think they’re ready to put Donald Trump back in the White House,” Cotton said.
He added: “Every election, members of one party endorse the candidate of the other party. This is a very traditional aspect of American politics. Look at what’s happened this week. The Democratic Party, led by Kamala Harris, has shifted so far to the left that the Kennedys have endorsed the Republicans. It’s really quite astonishing that the Democratic Party, led by Kamala Harris, has become so radical that the Kennedys have endorsed the Republicans.”
