Man refuses to let ‘entitled’ neighbor into apartment building as rule breaker continues her errant ways

One person has shared the story on social media, seeking others’ input on the ongoing issue with a neighbor who keeps breaking the rules set out by the apartment management.

“Am I an AITA because I purposely keep my neighbor out and make him and his dog sit outside in the dark?” Reddit user “THROWRA1900482” wrote on the “Am I an Idiot?” page.

The post has generated nearly 7,500 responses so far. Fox News Digital has reached out to etiquette experts for comment.

“I live in an apartment and have to carry my front door key to enter the property after 8pm,” the poster wrote.

“I let everyone know about this before they moved in. We have a tenant moving in downstairs and the back door is unlocked so they can get in and out without the key,” the person wrote.

“She should not have done this and had been told multiple times to take the key with her in case the front door was locked, but she ignored this.”

The writer continues, “She has begun treating me like a literal doorman, knocking violently on my window and repeatedly ringing the door to get me to open it. This happens daily, which upsets my dog ​​every time. And it always happens after 9pm.”

The person continued, “I let her in twice in good faith, but the third time I told her to take her keys and told her I would no longer be accommodating.”

She “again refused to retrieve her keys and began buzzing and whining and knocking violently on my window.”

But that didn’t stop the violations, which seem to have continued.

“She decided to take the dog out this evening and once again didn’t take the keys with her and started buzzing, barking and banging violently on my window,” the poster wrote.

“I decided to turn off the buzzer, give the dog a treat, close the door, ignore her and carry on watching the movie.”

This is where things changed.

The poster, who edited the original post, wrote, “I opened the door. I said I wouldn’t open it but honestly I literally couldn’t sleep because I knew she and her dog were outside. He added, “I think she buzzes everyone on the block, but everyone else either doesn’t buzz or ignores it. She only knocks on my apartment window because my apartment is the only place she buzzes.” [on the] It’s on the first floor.

Among the comments posted about this drama, the most “upvoted” comment was, “Please report her to the management every time. It may take time, but she will quit or be kicked out.”

The man continued, “But she does it again. It’s your fault for not answering, so why do you feel okay with her purposely knocking on your door multiple times in the evening?”

Others also couldn’t stand the woman’s behavior.

“She’s an adult and you don’t understand that you let her in after bothering her so many times,” one person wrote. “It’s shady and she’s propping up the door, putting everyone’s property and personal safety at risk.”
