Brooke Shields has admitted that being an empty nester is “not easy.”
In an emotional social media video, Shields spoke candidly about how she felt after dropping off her youngest daughter at college.
“A year ago I was sitting here watching my daughter leave the nest, and now I'm back on this porch, officially a married couple with their children on their own,” Shields, 59, began, noting that her two daughters attend the same school.

“At least they're together, but it's not really like that. It's not easy for the mothers,” she said in an Instagram video. “It feels really weird. It feels weird not having her here.”
Throughout the video, the “Pretty Baby” star wiped tears from her eyes as she recalled the painful moment she was separated from her daughter.
“It was really hard and she started crying… I really started crying and I cried the whole way in the car going home.”
“I'm an empty nest parent, it's amazing,” she added, fighting back tears.
