Mike White signs with Bills practice squad after Dolphins cut

Mike White will add another AFC East team to his collection.

White, who was waived by the Dolphins on Monday, signed a contract to join the Bills' practice squad, NFL Network reported. Tom Pelissero reports.

White lost his spot as Miami's backup quarterback to Skylar Thompson and was then waived the Sunday before Tuesday's 53-man deadline.

White, a fifth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2018, completed 46.5 percent of his passes for 179 yards but no touchdowns or interceptions in three preseason games against the Dolphins.

He was also sacked five times.

White, 29, became a Jets fan favorite in 2021 after starting in place of an injured Zach Wilson in a Week 7 game and throwing for 405 yards in a win over the Bengals to clinch the AFC title.

It was the Jets' first 400-yard passing season in 21 years, since Vinny Testaverde did it in 2000.

White appeared in eight games (seven starts) over two seasons with the Jets, throwing for 2,145 yards, eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

The Bills have experience under center, with Josh Allen and Mitchell Trubisky as their top two point guards.

Buffalo will face Miami at Hard Rock Stadium in Week 2.
