A man and woman who were flirting in a car were surprised when their vehicle flipped into the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on Wednesday, police said.
Philadelphia Police Department officers responded to a report of a vehicle parked on Kelly Drive falling into the river near the Columbia Bridge around 4:45 a.m.
FOX 29 in Philadelphia Police reported that the man and woman had been engaged in sexual intercourse in the back seat when the woman allegedly accidentally shifted gears, causing the vehicle to roll into the water.

They were uninjured and managed to get out of the sinking car safely, police said.

The police department also reported that a vehicle, believed to be a Land Rover or Range Rover, was pulled from the water at about 9am.

It's the second time in recent weeks that a car has plunged into the river off Kelly Drive – the last time, no one was inside.
