Princess Martha Louise, Daughter of King Harald of Norwayand longtime boyfriend Durek Verret are married.
According to a press release obtained by Fox News Digital, the couple were married on Saturday at the Hotel Union in Geiranger, Norway, in front of 350 guests, including the bride's parents, King Harald V and Queen Sonja, and her brother, Crown Prince Haakon, and his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Martha Louise's three daughters, Maud, 21, Leah, 19, and Emma, 16, were also in attendance.

“Our love will overcome all odds and will last forever,” the bride told Hello! magazine. “Love transcends everything because love is the innate energy that we all have here on this earth,” Verret added. “Love conquers all.”
According to the announcement, the pre-wedding celebrations included a social gathering, a boat trip along the Geirangerfjord and a salsa party at Hotel Union.

“It's about announcing to the world, in front of family, friends and God, that this is the person I love,” Verrett told the outlet ahead of the wedding. “Confirming our relationship in front of the universe is a powerful spiritual statement, and doing it surrounded by people who love us and the people we love is beautiful.”

Princess Märtha Louise announced she was leaving the royal family following “numerous questions about my role and that of my fiancé.” The mother of three, who is fourth in line to the Norwegian throne, became engaged to Verrett, an American who describes himself as a shaman and healer, in June 2022.
Queen Sonja and her husband, King Harald, spoke to reporters following their daughter's announcement.
“Americans have no idea what a kingdom is,” the queen told Hello magazine, “so it's not surprising. [Durek] I haven't noticed.”

“The Americans don't understand what this means here,” she added. “They don't understand. He thought he could do whatever he wanted without doing us any harm.”
The Queen said Mr Durek was a “fantastic person” and that her daughter's decision to step back from royal duties was in everyone's best interests.

“Even though we don't always agree on things, we're happy with each other,” Sonia says. “We feel like our family is so much closer now in a new and better way.”
