Country singer Jason Aldean told a young audience at a recent concert that if they don't like the state of the country, “go out and vote.”
“It's a crazy time for the media to treat me like an idiot for calling out people for doing stupid things. This country is crazy,” he said. “It's gotten really crazy the last few years, but November is an important month for our country. It's an important month.”
Aldean didn't tell people who to vote for, just to go vote.
Jason Aldean is right! If you don't vote, you have no excuse to complain about the results! Vote, vote, vote ❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/oyAqBgiJHw

“I'm not in a position to stand here and tell you who you should vote for or who you shouldn't vote for. That's not my job. I'm not in a position to say that. But we have a lot of young people here who are actually old enough to vote now,” he said.
After saying that he had no interest in voting when he was younger, preferring to hang out with friends, he told attendees that they had no right to complain about the election results if they didn't vote.
“This is a big issue. It's a really big issue and you see a lot of people complaining about the state of the country. They don't like it. That's how it is. If you don't vote, you have no right to complain about the results of the election. If you want to change something, just go outside. It only takes 30 minutes a day,” he said.
Aldean ended the set by touching on his song “Try That in a Small Town” and thanking the crowd for their support.
“I know who I want to win, and I want this song to be playing as my supporters walk into the White House,” he said.
In July, just hours after a man attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Aldean dedicated his performance of “Try That in a Small Town” to Trump.

The country music superstar is an ardent and outspoken supporter of Trump, and sat down with the former president at the Republican National Convention earlier this summer.
“President Trump is my friend, so I want to send him this next song. And we all know what's going to happen in November, so it's going to be OK,” Aldean told the crowd at a concert in Nashville last month.
“It just goes to show that there's a lot of bullshit out there, and this song is really about that, so I dedicate this song to the president.”
