Ryan Crouser eyes another gold at 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, chance to ‘retire on American soil’

Ryan Crowther made history 2024 Paris Olympics Last month, he became the first athlete in history to win three gold medals in the men's shot put, achieving the feat in three consecutive Olympic Games.

But for Crowther, the journey isn't over yet.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, American shot put star Reflecting on the historic moment in Paris, he added that this medal is by far his favourite because it was the first Olympics he was able to actually enjoy.

“For me, a big part of that win was just being out there. … I feel like that gave me some freedom in terms of actually being able to enjoy it. It felt like a lot of the pressure was off, as opposed to Tokyo, where I'd just set a world record, and the Tokyo Olympics felt like I had no choice but to lose.” [in] In Paris, I had more freedom to enjoy myself.”

Crowther explained that her path to the Olympics was uncertain due to an elbow injury and a pectoral muscle injury, but qualifying for the Summer Olympics is a major achievement.

“I think there was some adversity I had to overcome with an injury earlier in the year and some personal growth as well. [with it being] Since then, as my athletic career has progressed, I've learned to focus more on the positives than the negatives. [And] So I think it's a sign of growth. So I'm proud that I enjoyed this Olympics more than the past Olympics. I think that's a sign of growth for me as an individual.”

Corser, the current world and Olympic record holder, successfully defended his title for the third time with the longest throw of the competition at 22.90 meters. Corser now has the most Olympic gold medals in men's shot put, breaking a record held by Americans Parry O'Brien and Ralph Rose and Poland's Tomasz Majewski.

But there's a chance Crowther could improve on that record once the Olympics resumes. Los Angeles He hopes to be there in 2028.

“Los Angeles is the ultimate dream for me,” the 31-year-old says. “If the Olympics weren't held in the United States, it would probably be delayed a year or two, but the opportunity to retire on American soil is too good to pass up. If I can retire with a gold medal in Los Angeles, it would be a dream come true. But if nothing else, I'll be happy just to be selected for the team. That will be enough.”

It will be four years before Crowther wins another gold medal, but the veteran shot putter is focused on training and recovery, and supplements are playing a part in that.

He's been partnered with health and wellness company Thorne for several years, and spoke to Fox News Digital about the importance of making sure the supplements he takes to aid in training and recovery are on par with the standards of competition.

“I get tested during competition and I get random drug tested outside of competition 30, almost 40 times a year, so what I put in my body is extremely important to me, so I only take supplements that are third-party tested to the utmost,” he said.

“Thorne is at the highest level in terms of third-party quality testing. For me, it's what initially attracted me to them and what has made our partnership so successful is the level and commitment they show towards their products. That ties in hand with the level and commitment I show towards my training and focus. I can train at my best, knowing that what I'm putting into my body is exactly what's on the label.”
