Several New York Republican lawmakers are calling for an investigation into former state governor Kathy Hockle (D), following her arrest on charges of working as a Chinese spy.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) and Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) are among the Republican lawmakers who have called for an investigation into Linda Sun, 41, and her husband, Chris Foo, after federal prosecutors unsealed incriminating documents against her. Indictment Sun, a China-born naturalized U.S. citizen, was charged with conspiracy to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act, failure to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, money laundering, and visa fraud.
According to the indictment, Sun's husband, Hu, was charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, fraudulent use of identification documents and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Lawler also spoke out, saying it was “alarming” that there were Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents “among her staff.”
“The fact that Kathy Hawkle had Chinese Communist Party agents on her staff is extremely disturbing and requires further investigation,” Lawler said. said “How else did this foreign agent influence the Governor's decision-making?
