Election analyst and statistician Nate Silver said his election projections show Donald Trump currently has the advantage.
Silver said Trump's chances of winning the Electoral College have risen from 52.4% to 58.2%, while Kamala Harris' chances of winning have fallen from 47.3% to 41.6%.
“While the odds are still even, the chances of a Trump victory are now the highest they've been since July 30th,” Silver wrote.
Prominent election analyst and statistician Nate Silver said Wednesday that former President Trump is likely to defeat Sen. Kamala Harris in November's presidential election by the widest margin in months.
Announcing his latest election predictions, Silver wrote on his Substack account: “While it's still a 50-50 chance, the chances of a Trump victory are the highest they've been since July 30th.”
According to Silver's detailed election forecasting model, Trump's chances of winning the Electoral College votes have increased from 52.4% to 58.2% since last Thursday, while Harris' chances have fallen from 47.3% to 41.6%.
They also noted that Harris did not appear to benefit as much from the excitement around the Democratic National Convention as election models predicted.
“While a convention boost is debatable, Harris has been performing mediocre in recent state polls,” Silver wrote.
