Hewlett Packard Enterprise will continue its legal efforts to recover up to $4 billion in damages from the heirs of Mike Lynch, the late British technology entrepreneur who died when his yacht sank off the coast of Italy last month.
The damages HPE seeks to recover stem from a civil lawsuit it filed against Lynch alleging fraud related to Autonomy, a company he co-founded. Lynch has denied the allegations.
In 2022, a UK court ruled largely in the company's favor in the case.

“The death of Dr. Lynch is a tragedy, as are the deaths of the other passengers on board, but it does not change what happened. A UK judge ruled in 2022 that the company was the victim of a fraud perpetrated by Dr. Lynch and co-defendant Sushoban Hussain, and HPE is liable to recover damages on behalf of its shareholders,” HPE said in a statement to FOX Business on Thursday.
