Former President Donald Trump on Thursday addressed attendees at the Republican Jewish Coalition's (RJC) annual leadership conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. They must convince other Jews to vote Republican to save Israel and America.
Trump, who has addressed rallies in person on several occasions, has spoken via satellite throughout his campaign and has pledged to address the 47th president of the United States in person next year.
He began his speech by paying tribute to Hersh Goldberg Pollin, a 23-year-old American-Israeli who was killed by Hamas terrorists last week along with five other hostages before being rescued.
“The only party in America that makes common cause with people who sympathize with this evil is a very sick party,” Trump said of the Democrats. He called President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris “morally rotten” for condemning Israel for its terrorist acts against the country.
He warned that if Harris wins, Israel will lose an ally in the White House, “and with them in power, our country, America, will never survive.”
Trump recounted his many achievements in Middle East policy, including defeating ISIS, withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal, withdrawing from the anti-Israel UN Human Rights Council, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, recognising Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and forging the Abraham Accords between Israel and several Arab countries – a process that had stalled under Biden and Harris.
He noted that the Biden-Harris administration has restored funding to terror-related entities in the Palestinian territories, removed the Houthis from the list of terrorist organizations and given Iran access to billions of dollars in funding.
Trump has promised to restore stability to the Middle East and bring about “peace through strength”, and warned that Israel's enemies would continue to wage a “ruthless” war against Israel if Harris was elected.
He noted that Jews vote Democratic at a high rate and asked his Republican audience to explain to their fellow Jews that if Harris wins, “if she becomes president, Israel will be gone. Israel will no longer exist.”
To a standing ovation, he added that he would expel jihadists and Hamas supporters: “If you hate America and want to get rid of Israel, we don't want you in our country.”
“I warn all university presidents that American taxpayers should not fund the creation of terrorist sympathizers on American soil,” he added, receiving a standing ovation. He said he would revoke accreditation and federal funding from any university that “does not end anti-Semitic propaganda.”
Above all, Trump said, Jews need to convince and make sure other Jews vote Republican.
“This November, we've got to get any Jewish person or any person who loves Israel to vote Republican. We've got to get them to vote for Trump,” he told the crowd.
Dr. Miriam Adelson introduced her late husband, Sheldon, as a major supporter of the RJC and an advocate for the state of Israel, telling the audience that Trump is “a president who has already proven he is committed to Israel, a president who has already proven he is a supporter of Israel.” [to] We are confident that God will always do what he promises.”
“He's our best friend. He's going to save us. And I look forward to him going into the White House and saving the Jewish people.”
