Apalachee High School shooting suspect Colt Gray appeared in Barrow County Superior Court on Friday. This week's mass shooting.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Gray “has been charged with four counts of felony murder in connection with the shooting.”

“I want you to know the maximum sentence for felony murder. For each of the charges, the maximum sentence is the death penalty, life in prison without parole or life in prison with the possibility of parole,” Judge Curry Mingledorf II told Gray.

Mingledorff also said no bail has been requested for Gray at this time.

Gray's lawyer also told the judge: “Circumstances arose yesterday afternoon which required our firm to appoint alternative counsel and this has already been arranged.”

“I have already explained this to Mr. Gray and replacement counsel will be appointed by the end of today,” she added.

Gray did not enter a guilty plea during his court appearance.
