Authorities in Texas tracked down a suspect in the murder of a 21-year-old nursing student after a tipster recognized him from a profile on a “sugar daddy” website.

Muna Pandey, a Nepalese nursing student at Houston Community College, was found shot to death in her Houston apartment on Monday, August 26th.

A neighbour later told police that they had heard a “loud noise” coming from her apartment on the evening of Saturday, August 24, which was also the last time friends and family saw Pandy alive.

According to the complaint, an unidentified man called her building manager to inform him of the body in her apartment, but then quickly hung up. Retrieved from People.

After police released the CCTV footage, they received a call from a nearby restaurant where Pandey's former employer was located, saying the man in the footage resembled Shah, a regular customer at the establishment.

According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 28, a woman called Houston police and said she “immediately” recognized the man in the video as Shah from the “sugar daddy” website.

“No mother should have to go through this heartbreak, especially one who comes from so far away,” the fundraiser reads.
