Paul Harrell, a military veteran and firearms expert, announced his death on Tuesday in a YouTube video filmed by his manager and uploaded posthumously.
Harrell died at the age of 58 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Marine Corps.
video Beginning Harrell explained that he had instructed his manager to record a notice of his death in December 2023 and release it after his death.
“If you're watching this, I'm dead,” Harrell said.

He continued, “A few months ago I sat on this log and told you all that I'd been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I also said that because it was caught early, I'd probably be here for a while. It was caught early, but not as early as I thought it would be, and it spread faster than I thought it would.”
When fans noticed him on crutches and worried he might have fallen, Harrell responded, “Yes, I broke my hip, but I wasn't in an accident.” The cancer has spread to the bones.”
He said: “I didn't fall and break my leg, I broke my leg and then fell. My time is running out.”
Harrell told fans that he expected people would “bootleg” his music now that he's dead, but there's little they can do about it.
He also said, “People will use this opportunity to tarnish my character, so I hope you all get to know me well enough to know what and what not to believe.”
Harrell ended the video by saying he has “very little regret” about living his life with a gun in front of the camera, and concluded as always with, “So as always, please don't try this at home. Thanks for watching.”
