The 14-year-old boy who allegedly killed four people at Apalachee High School on Wednesday reportedly came from a broken home with a mother with a history of arrests for drugs and domestic violence.
of New York Post Reported A neighbor of the suspect's 43-year-old mother said she remembers her mother locking him out of the house in the middle of the night, leaving him outside to knock on the door and beg to be let in.
“There were nights when the mother would lock her son and sister out of the house and the boys would be banging on the back door screaming, 'Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!' and crying. It was just horrible,” the neighbour said.
The neighbour said the boy “was not wearing clean clothes” and that the youngest member of the family had come to beg for some food.
of Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) attention The 14-year-old suspect's mother has a “criminal history dating back 17 years.”
of Australia Japan Society The mother “has been charged with domestic violence, drug possession, criminal damage and traffic offenses in Barrow, Fulton and Forsyth counties. According to public court documents, the mother also faces civil fraud charges related to the purchase of a car and was held in the Ben Hill County Jail as recently as April.”
The 14-year-old suspect is accused of killing four people and injuring nine others at Apalachee High School on September 4, 2024.
