Allegations Against Arkansas School Principal
An Arkansas principal is facing serious accusations, as authorities claim she led a children’s fighting club. This could result in prison time, house arrest, or probation.
Mary Tracy Morrison, 51, who owns and directs the Delta Brain Development Institute and Engage Program in Jonesboro, has been charged with one count of allowing child abuse and four counts related to contributing to juvenile delinquency.
According to KAIT, on Monday, she received a sentence of 60 months of probation for the child abuse charge and 12 months for each of the additional charges. Additionally, she will serve 30 days in the Craighead County Detention Center.
Prosecutors, citing witness accounts and video evidence, allege that Morrison abused and humiliated students at the school regularly.
She was arrested in April 2025 after a student’s mother reported that her son was enduring both mental and physical abuse.
Police obtained a video through a warrant that reportedly shows Morrison directing a child to sit on the floor amid a circle of 18 other students, with Morrison on the outside. The footage reveals Morrison telling the children to strike the boy in the center with an “unknown object.”
In the video, Morrison can be heard verbally humiliating the child, while another student kicked and choked him. Following this, she allegedly “high-fived” the boy to express approval of the actions taken.
Interestingly, three of Morrison’s employees have also been arrested for their involvement, identified as Michael Bean (38), Kristen Bell (36), and Katherine Lipscomb (45). Reports indicate that one teacher even instructed a student to hit another in his “private area.”
Moreover, after the incident, Morrison purportedly told the victim to apologize to all the other students and to keep quiet about what transpired.
In a related development, Prime Minister Scott Morrison pleaded guilty to one count of allowing child abuse and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to KAIT.
