The half-brother of former President Barack Obama, who supported former President Donald Trump in the presidential election, spoke to Fox News Digital about why he left the Democratic party and why he believes Trump will “win” the November election.
“I support President Trump. I've been supporting him since 2016. I like the guy,” Malik Obama told Fox News Digital on Monday. “I like his presence. I like his manner. I like his candor. And I think he's good for the country. And he's put the country back on the right track. So yeah, I'm a Republican, so he's my candidate.”“
Both Malik and Barack are sons of Barack Hussein Obama – Malik was a groomsman at Barack's wedding in 1992 – but the two have been estranged since.
“The most important thing is to make America stronger in the eyes of the world. Trump is a strong man. He's known for his grit and his strength, and I like that,” Malik said. “He's a serious man. He's a businessman, so he knows how to run a big organization. I've had a hard time with the Democrats because they're hypocrites.”

Obama explained that the hypocrisy of his departure from the Democratic Party had to do with the way the party handled the presidential campaigns of Trump and Hillary Clinton.
““They've treated President Trump terribly,” Obama said. “I've never seen anything like it in my life. They're going after him like crazy. But they're using the law to lock him up and take him off the ballot. I've never seen anything like it in my life. So the way they're treating a former president of the United States is, to me, despicable.”“
President Obama said he believes that in 2024 “Democrats will do the same thing they did in 2016.”

“They lied to Hillary, to Hillary Clinton, too. And they're just hypocrites. And they're not being honest. I was a Democrat at the time, and when they started lying about the emails, I knew they were trying to back Hillary Clinton into a corner through underhanded means,” he continued. “Then Trump came along and called them out. He called them out to their face. And I loved it. And a light bulb went on in my head. And I said, 'Yeah, this is it.' And I've been a big Trump fan ever since.”
Obama also took issue with the way President Biden and his party have handled the transition to Vice President Harris.
“Then there was Joe Biden, old man,” Obama said. “He couldn't even find the door when they showed him around, and he hung in there until the end and became the nominee. And then all of a sudden they caved in and nominated Kamala Harris. Please Harris, she's a joke. I don't think she's qualified, looking at her behavior and everything. Maybe they should have nominated Michelle Obama instead.”“
Obama said that he and Harris, his half-brother, Barack Obama, were “alike” and “indecisive”, particularly on issues such as abortion and immigration.
““I think it's evil to tinker with biology and stuff like that, but they support it. I think it's abhorrent that they're willing to support something like that. What freedom is she talking about? She's talking about reproductive freedom, and reproductive freedom means abortion,” Obama said.
“I don't support giving someone the right to kill a baby. I think it's terrible that they would do that,” he added.
“Even with the border issue of immigrants and illegal immigrants coming into the United States, it took a long time to bring back children. [through] “I came into the United States legally. I had a green card. The paperwork was filed, I went through the process. I was a legal resident for a long time before I decided to become a U.S. citizen. That was a process. I had to apply, I had to file, I had to do what I had to do,” Obama continued. “And my kids are in the United States now, and I had to file the paperwork for them, I had to go through the process legally. And then illegal immigrants came in, they were allowed to vote and things like that happened. And that to me, you know, that's unacceptable. I can't tolerate that. And I can't support policies like that.”

Obama's half-brother also told Fox News Digital that he believes former President Obama was a “fake” and “did nothing” for the family, and that one of the reasons Trump is so appealing in comparison is because he “doesn't mince words.”
“Yes, we are going to win,” Obama said of his message to Trump.
“President Trump, you are going to win in November 2024,” he concluded. “You are going to win. And I think you're going to win in a landslide victory. Because there's this fuss going on over Kamala and she can't even be interviewed. I'm waiting for tomorrow and we'll all see that she can't be interviewed. She's just going to smile and go.”
