Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) argued on “CBS Mornings” Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris is the “candidate of change” in the presidential race.
“What Kamala Harris has done in the last eight weeks is unprecedented in American history. She's closed the gap. Not only are we within the margin of error, she's expanded the map of our country. You saw the new polls this morning. Donald Trump now has to choose between defending states that weren't even being talked about or spending millions of dollars on them. That was unimaginable a few weeks ago. So I think the momentum is with us. She's the candidate of change. She's a breath of fresh air. Donald Trump has old-fashioned mediocrity. He has the past, she has the future. He has chaos, we have competence. It's night and day. This is the easiest election of my life. I love where we are right now,” Newsom said.
He added, “When I introduced our candidate who won 482 votes from California, I spoke about her sense of justice – racial justice, social justice, economic justice. I've seen her literally become a champion for people who other people have turned their backs on. But at the same time, she's also a tough realist. She's tough, very tough.”
