The body of a missing boater was found Tuesday in the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park, the eighth death in the park in less than a month and the 16th so far this year.
The latest fatality is believed to be a 71-year-old man who went missing during a personal boat trip near Lower Nancoweap Camp on the Colorado River, according to the National Park Service.
A group of men called the park's communications center late Monday to report the man missing.
Park rangers used a helicopter to find the body about 10 miles downstream on Tuesday.

The man's name and hometown were not immediately released.
The National Park Service and the Coconino County Coroner's Office are investigating the fatality.
Authorities are also investigating the death of Patrick Horton, 59, of Salida, Colorado, who was found dead by members of his group on the 10th weekend of a non-profit riverboat trip along the Colorado River.

Horton and the boater found Tuesday are believed to be the seventh and eighth people to have died at the park within a month. The death of the missing boater is believed to be the 16th fatality at the popular tourist destination so far this year.
Park officials reported 11 deaths in 2023 and said there are typically around 10 to 15 deaths per year.
