Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, a former president, and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), stopped by a New York City fire station on Wednesday, the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on U.S. soil that killed 2,977 innocent people.
Many New York City firefighters lost their lives as first responders to the attack, and survivors continue to suffer from health conditions resulting from their heroic actions that day.
At the station, a young child called out to Trump, “President Trump, Make America Great Again!”, to which Trump responded with a high-five.
Trump and Vance posed for a photo with everyone at the police department.
They were then greeted with a standing ovation from the department.
The visit to the NYC Fire Department's Engine 4/Tower Ladder 15 on South Street came after President Trump and VP Vance visited Ground Zero, the site of the 2001 World Trade Center attack, along with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who faced off against Trump the night before in the first 2024 presidential debate.
