Caitlin Clark gives apolitical, pro-democracy response when pressed about possible Kamala Harris endorsement

WNBA rookie guard star Caitlin Clark recently turned down the opportunity to publicly endorse Democratic candidate Kamala Harris for president, instead offering some old-fashioned, apolitical advice to American voters.

During Wednesday night's post-game press conference, a reporter asked Clark about some of his recent social media likes. As previously reported by The Blaze News, Clark had just hours earlier liked an Instagram message from pop singer Taylor Swift endorsing Harris for president.

“Can you tell us what that post means to you and whether or not you actually intend to endorse Kamala Harris?” the reporter asked.

Rather than offer any personal political opinions about Harris or any of the other candidates, Clark urged Americans to exercise their right to vote and educate themselves about the candidates running for office.

“So I think the biggest thing is to encourage people to register to vote,” Clark responded, “and continue to educate themselves about the candidates that we have on the ballot and the policies that they support.”

“I think that's the biggest thing you can do, and I would encourage everyone in our country who has the opportunity to do that.”

In his response, Clark acknowledged that as a prominent athlete he has a powerful “platform” that can influence others, and suggested he wanted to use his influence to encourage others to participate in the democratic process.

“That's exactly what Taylor did,” Clark argued.

In an Instagram post, Swift urged others to educate themselves on the issue, make their own decisions, and most importantly, register to vote: “I did my research and I made my choice. You are responsible for how you research and you are responsible for the choice you make.” Swift writes:.
