One Facebook group isn't getting any praise from Lady Gaga at all.
The Grammy Award-winning singer fired back at former NYU classmates who cruelly started a private Facebook group titled “Stefani Germanotta, You'll Never Be Famous.”
“Some of the people I went to college with made this back in the day,” Gaga said, “so you can't give up when people doubt you or put you down. You have to keep going.”
Gaga's response came after a TikTok video posted on Tuesday went viral showing the infamous page shaming the singer.
The cover photo for this page is an old photo of Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, as a young brunette woman with a black X on her face.
The next slide in the TikTok post featured a photo of the “Shallow” singer holding her Oscar and a list of all the awards she's won, including 13 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, 18 MTV Video Music Awards, and many more.
Fans took to the comments section of the TikTok video to praise the singer's response and rise to success.
“Success is the best revenge,” one person wrote.
“She's not just famous, she's a celebrity,” added another.
The now-deleted Facebook group was created by classmates at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and had 12 members at the time the screenshot was taken.
Gaga began singing and playing piano at an early age and claims to have been bullied in her early teens. After performing at open mic nights in clubs during high school, she was accepted early into New York University.
Gaga has spoken openly about her experiences with bullying throughout high school and college.
“I'll never forget that. I remember the bullies saying it in front of other people and no one said anything,” Gaga said on the Australian TV series. Sunday Project 2020. “There was no one to call out to me and say, 'Are you OK? Are you OK?' In fact, it would have made the situation at school even worse if I had spoken out about bullies being mean.”
“Being bullied has taught me the importance of kindness, because it is something that can be fixed.”
The singer burst onto the mainstream scene in 2009 when his hit song “Just Dance” was released alongside a string of popular songs like “Paparazzi” and “Poker Face” on his “The Fame” album.
A new song is due to be released next month.
On September 3rd, the singer posted to the X account He shared photos showing his itinerary. The opening ceremony of the Venice Film Festival featured a welcome dinner, the world premiere of the film “Joker: Folie à deux”, followed by several press conferences. The next section introduced the film starring Joaquin Phoenix, which will be released in theaters in October, with another headline: “XX October: LG7 first single”.
Fans believe she is set to release the first track from her long-awaited seventh studio album sometime in October.
