Actress Rosie Perez said on MSNBC's “Deadline” on Friday that “if you're a true American,” you don't want former President Donald Trump to win the November election.
“We live in this divided America, not in the abstract, but in our hearts,” host Nicolle Wallace said. “What's the best strategy for getting people on your side? Do you think people who voted for Trump were anything like super-fans? What's your take right now?”
“I think we have MAGA and we have Republicans, and if we focus on Republicans, we can turn them. I'm tired of it, too. I'm exhausted. I've stopped fighting with people. I've stopped listening to people and just letting them be, and here's the facts,” Perez said.
She added, “How can you side with this man knowing that he's going to deny the facts that I just stated? He's saying don't believe the facts, believe me. And if you're a true patriot, if you're a true American, you don't want a man of this generation to be in office again. How can you continue to forgive him? How can you continue to make excuses for him? Even during Hurricane Maria, people were saying, that's Trump. Really, that's Trump? Yes, that's Trump. That's the point. That's the point you're missing. A president shouldn't behave like that.”
