“A lot of people don't know this, but women have testosterone in their bodies, and once it's used up, like in the eggs, it's gone, and once it's gone, it needs to be replenished, and it's doable, and then you can feel sexy again,” added Winslet, who married her husband Edward Abel Smith in 2012.

The actress also told the caller, “That's [her] Changes that occur in a woman's body are “God's fault.”

“Our bodies are weird and they do weird things, especially as we get older,” she said.

She also warned listeners that low hormone levels can have a big impact on feelings around intimacy, and said they should “definitely” get their hormone levels tested.

Although a woman's body inevitably changes over time, Winslet says there are many positives to getting older.

“I think as women get older, they become more attractive, sexier, truer to their own truth, more powerful, they can go about in the world and not care so much. That's powerful,” she said, adding, “I always say to my friends, 'You look great, you look great.'”

She echoed similar sentiments in an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK in September, saying she believes women “get more beautiful as they get older.”

“Our faces will reflect more of who we are, fit our bone structure better and take on more life and history,” she told the magazine.

“I've also learned that it's important to take care of yourself from the inside out. Not just in terms of nutrition, how you eat and take care of yourself, but how you take care of yourself from a mental health perspective, how you feel about yourself emotionally and physically, your place in the world, how you walk through it, and how you live with honesty and authenticity.”
