Man Arrested Following Shots Fired Near Trump’s Vicinity

Updated 12:41pm: Initial reports said two people were shooting at each other outside the course, but investigators now believe a Secret Service agent was the sole shooter, officials said.

According to sources, Secret Service agents spotted a suspicious person at the Trump International Golf Course, saw what appeared to be a gun barrel and opened fire.

The man's motive is currently unknown, and he was arrested by local police on I-95.

“The President and Vice President were briefed on the security incident at Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was playing golf. They are relieved to learn that former President Trump is safe. Their teams will provide regular updates,” the White House said in a statement.

The Trump campaign released a statement announcing that shots were fired near Donald Trump as he was leaving a golf course in Florida. Trump is reported to be safe and unharmed.
