Game StatusKeenan Allen will sit out Week 2 Sunday Night Football.
of Chicago Bears Expect wide receiver Keenan Allen to be available for the Week 2 matchup. Houston TexansThe team lists Allen as questionable for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
Allen was also listed as questionable for Week 1, but was released in the opening game. Tennessee Titans. Head coach Matt Eberflus said Friday. The Bears will be at full strength leading up to Sunday's game.
Keenan Allen's injury status
The Bears wide receiver was listed as questionable on Friday after missing practice this week due to heel pain he's been feeling throughout training camp. Not being able to practice this week is probably not a good sign for Allen. He was also injured last week, but was limited the week before starting full practice. Allen did not participate at all this week in the game against the Texans.
How Keenan Allen's injury impacts fantasy football
We have yet to really see what the Bears offense looks like when it's at its best. Allen was effective last week as he was constantly open on the field and came close to scoring a touchdown, but Caleb Williams had just 93 yards passing. Allen only had 29 yards on four receptions, but he led Bears receivers with 11 targets.
If Allen is unable to play, Rome Odunze is also listed as questionable and will be assessed at game time. This is a big boost for DJ Moore, with tight end Cole Kmet also set to benefit. Moore led the Bears in receptions last week and will be the only legitimate option on the outside. In a league with so much depth, Tyler Scott is worth keeping an eye on as a sleeper. Scott could be the offense's second wide receiver due to injuries at the position.
With Allen and Odunze limited, Williams hasn't been good enough to merit a fantasy starter. Williams struggled last week with all his weapons available. If Allen can't play, it could be another tough week for the No. 1 overall pick.
Even if Allen plays, he may not be as effective since he didn't practice all week. With injuries to wide receivers and a rookie quarterback, the Bears may have to rely more on the run game this week. Even so, the Texans' run defense was solid in Week 1, holding Jonathan Taylor to just three yards per carry.
