Former President Donald Trump has no time to rest, having survived yet another assassination attempt.
The assassination attempt took place on Sunday at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was thwarted when Secret Service agents opened fire on the gunman, who was later identified as “Ukraine fanatic” and “Trump hater” Ryan Wesley Rouse.
Routh's social media accounts were reportedly filled with posts about recruiting soldiers to fight in Ukraine.
In a statement, Trump wrote: “I heard gunfire near me, but before the rumors get out of control, I want you to hear this first: I am safe and well! Nothing can slow me down. I will never surrender! I will always love those of you who supported me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.”
Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report couldn't help but praise Trump's strength over the past few months.
“Imagine the mental state Donald Trump is in right now, with two months to go before he has part of his ear blown off and someone gets killed at a rally. The never-ending rhetoric, the backdrop of trials and efforts to remove him from the election and potentially put him in prison because the indictments haven't even been issued yet,” Rubin said.
“And he's still there. He barely takes a day off,” he added.
In a second statement on Truth Social, Trump thanked the Secret Service, Sheriff Rick Bradshaw, “the brave and dedicated patriots in their offices,” and “all law enforcement agencies.”
“What a great job done. I am so proud to be an American!” Trump concluded.
