Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York on Monday, Fox News Digital has confirmed. It is unclear what charges Diddy faces.

“We are disappointed in the U.S. Attorney's Office's decision to pursue this unjustified prosecution against Mr. Combs,” Combs' attorney, Mark Anifilo, said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.

“Sean Diddy Combs is a music star, a self-made entrepreneur, a family man and a proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, doting on his children and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect human being, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has cooperated fully with this investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve judgment until all the facts are known. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to vindicating himself in court.”

On March 25, the music mogul's Los Angeles and Miami homes were searched in connection with a federal human trafficking investigation, authorities confirmed to Fox News Digital at the time.

Combs, 51, still faces possible legal action in several civil cases and one criminal count.

In November, Cathy, legally known as Cassandra Ventura, accused Combs of raping her in his home, enduring his “violent behavior and unusual demands” for “more than a decade,” and forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes while he watched and filmed her.

The day after she filed her lawsuit, Combs and Cathy reached a settlement and she dropped the lawsuit. From CNN In the 2016 video, the rapper is seen running down a hotel hallway in a towel just before Cassie (Cassandra Ventura) walks down the same hallway, grabbing a bag, toward the elevator.

When they reached the elevator, Combs grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground, before kicking her twice, picking up her bag and dragging her back down the hallway, where she returned to use the phone.

A few days later, Combs apologized on Instagram. “It's very difficult to look back on the darkest times of my life, but sometimes it's necessary. I was at my worst. I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses,” Combs said. “My behavior in that video is inexcusable and I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”

Combs confessed, “I felt disgusted at the time it was committed. I still feel disgusted now. I sought professional help. I began going to therapy and rehab. I have had to pray for God's mercy and grace. I am truly sorry. However, I try to be a better person every day. I am not asking for forgiveness. I am truly sorry.”

Just before New York state's adult victims law expired in December, three more women came forward to accuse the “It's All About the Benjamins” musician of sexual assault in separate lawsuits.

According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Jane Doe alleged that when she was 17, she was sexually assaulted by Combs, his entertainment company president Harve Pierre, and a third party.

Diddy has denied the allegations, saying in a statement to Fox News Digital, “Enough is enough. Over the past few weeks, I have sat in silence and watched as people attempted to smear my character and destroy my reputation and legacy.”

Music producer Rodney “Lil' Rod” Jones, who sued Combs for sexual assault in February, also added actor Cuba Gooding Jr. to his complaint. Jones, producer of “The Love Album: Off the Grid,” claims he lived with Combs for an extended period of time and accuses the “I'll Be Missing You” singer of sexually assaulting him and forcing him to have sex with prostitutes.

Combs' legal team slammed Jones' accusations as “total lies” and argued that the producer was “nothing more than a liar who shamelessly filed a $30 million lawsuit seeking undeserved compensation,” Combs' lawyer, Shawn Holley, told Fox News Digital at the time.

In May, two more plaintiffs came forward in a lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records founder: model Crystal McKinney, who claimed she was assaulted at Diddy's recording studio in 2003 and forced to perform “oral sex” on him;
