Kathy Ventura left the state last summer after providing testimony in the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to recent documents. Last month, she filed a request to change the venue for her ongoing legal issues with Clayton Howard, a former male escort, after serving as the key witness in Diddy’s trial surrounding sex crime allegations.
At 39, Kathy is among several individuals named in Howard’s lawsuit, which claims a decade of “sexual exploitation, trafficking, and abuse” at the hands of Diddy and his former girlfriend. In her motion submitted on May 1, she proposed that Howard’s case be moved from California to New York, where numerous other lawsuits against Diddy have been filed.
The motion stated that, “Plaintiff is a resident of New Jersey and can easily travel to New York City. Although Ms. Ventura does not reside in the United States, it is more convenient for her to travel to New York than to California.” It went on to highlight that many incidents relevant to the case occurred in New York City, alongside ongoing civil cases linked to Diddy’s alleged crimes, which share similar facts and legal issues.
Kathy also noted, “As a result, the relevant witnesses are likely to reside in or around New York.” She emphasized that shifting the case would be more suitable and requested that the court facilitate the transfer under U.S. law.
In another document, Kathy declared her citizenship but clarified that she does not live in California. Additionally, she emphasized that if the case moves forward, attending in New York would be significantly easier for her.
A representative for Kathy declined to provide comments on the situation. Interestingly, Kathy recently had her third child with her husband, Alex Fine, just weeks after testifying against Diddy. The pair married in 2019 and have two daughters, aged five and four.
During her testimony, Kathy made several serious allegations, asserting that Diddy raped her in 2018 amid a tumultuous point in their relationship. She described instances of abuse and coercion, including being forced to participate in non-consensual activities. Kathy revealed that she had entered rehab earlier this year, battling “terrifying flashbacks” tied to her past experiences.
In court, she disclosed that she would receive a $10 million settlement from the InterContinental Hotel, where an incident involving Diddy occurred in 2016. Kathy recounted how she had to confront Diddy after he became violent during an event at the hotel.
The trial, which began in May, concluded in July with Diddy being acquitted of extortion and sex trafficking charges, yet found guilty on lesser counts related to prostitution. Following the verdict, he was sentenced to over four years in prison and is currently incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix, facing a planned release in February 2028.
