Following the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Monday, Sunny Hostin, one of the liberal co-hosts of “The View,” surprisingly denounced the many people who spoke out in support of violence against the Republican presidential candidate.

A second suspect in the attempted assassination of President Trump, Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested on Sunday after he reportedly pointed an AK-47-style rifle near President Trump while playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
However, a Secret Service agent saw a crazed man pointing a weapon over the fence and fired in his direction, after which Routh sped away and drove away, only to be arrested by authorities on the highway.
“The Secret Service said agents fired shots at the suspect, but Acting Director Ronald Rowe said the suspect “did not fire or attempt to fire at agents.” CBS News Reported.
According to a survey conducted on June 24thNumber At least 10% of Americans believe it would be appropriate to use violence to stop President Trump's reelection, according to University of Chicago political scientist Robert Pape.
Referring to the disturbing data, Hostin condemned this hateful thinking.
“I just read this morning that a recent University of Chicago poll on support for political violence in the US shows growing support for violence against Trump and others,” Hostin said. “Trump is approved of by 10% of US adults. 26 million adults support violence to stop Trump from returning to office, including over 30,000 who own guns and nearly 80% who have access to internet organizing tools. This is despicable. What should we do?”
Pappe expressed “immediate concern” about the findings. The Boston Globe July 14thNumberHe also noted that 10% of those who support violence against Trump are “politically active” and have the “capacity for violence”.
Co-host Sara Haines said the surge in political violence in the US was due to the normalization of “hate speech” and “political rhetoric.”
Still, Hostin countered with the usual liberal talking points, blaming Americans' “interest in guns” for the violence against Trump and other politicians, rather than Democratic leaders and other left-wing politicians openly wishing malice and violence upon Trump.
The first attempt to assassinate Trump was unsuccessful, when suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired eight shots into a crowd at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.NumberAlthough one person was killed and two were wounded in the barrage of bullets, the bullet that struck Trump only grazed the top of the former president's right ear.
Following the incident, the Secret Service came under investigation for its handling of the matter, which led to the resignation of the agency's former director, Kimberly Cheatle.
Meanwhile, many paranoid Democrats continue to tout the theory that Trump was “complicit” in the first assassination attempt and that the former president was personally involved in the plot. This echoes the tendency of left-leaning voters to not believe in any “conspiracies” unless Trump is involved in wrongdoing. For example, despite the Department of Justice admitting that it found no links between Russia and the Trump campaign, many Democrats still believe that Trump colluded with Russia to defeat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.
