Trump’s Views on the Iranian Conflict

President Donald Trump has recently drawn attention by using vivid imagery about the Iranian conflict to back his claims, suggesting that mainstream media’s portrayal of the situation in Iran is skewed.

In his criticism, he specifically called out outlets like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and CNN, labeling them as part of the “fake news media,” which he believes has “completely lost their way.”

“If Iran had surrendered, recognizing that its navy was lost and its air force no longer existed, with the entire military walking out of Tehran, dropping their weapons, waving white flags, and shouting `Surrender,’ the headlines would still claim Iran achieved a magnificent victory over the United States,” Trump posted on Truth Social. He added that the Democrats and the media are out of touch and “totally insane!”

Trump, along with his administration, asserts that Iran suffered a significant military defeat from Operation Epic Fury, a U.S.-led initiative that started in partnership with Israel on February 28.

A tenuous ceasefire was declared in early April, with ongoing negotiations aimed at securing a long-lasting peace deal, although an agreement remains elusive.

On Sunday, Trump warned Middle Eastern nations that “time is running out” for a resolution, and the top U.S. military commander has indicated that the resumption of conflict is still a possibility.
