Hillary Clinton has claimed former President Donald Trump is a “danger to our country and the world”, a day after a 58-year-old man camped out for 12 hours and attempted to kill the Republican presidential candidate.

Clinton said in an interview Monday. MSNBC Host Rachel Maddow commented:

“The late Harry Evans once said that journalists should strive to achieve objectivity,” Clinton said.

“The target in this case is Donald Trump, his sedition and his danger to our country and the world,” she added, claiming the mainstream media was “relentlessly” attacking President Biden while “boosting” Trump.

Soon after, Donald Trump Jr. slammed Clinton's comments, arguing they raised the possibility of political violence against his father, who has already been the victim of two assassination attempts.

“Hillary Clinton knows exactly what she's doing here. The day after a Democratic donor and Kamala Harris supporter tried to kill my father, she is knowingly fanning the flames of left-wing violence and putting my father's life even more at risk,” Donald Trump Jr. wrote on X.

Police detained suspect Ryan Wesley Routh in Martin County on Sunday and found an AK-style rifle with a scope, two backpacks and a GoPro “that was intended to take pictures” near a fence at Trump's golf course.

The Secret Service said Trump was lucky to be “within 300 to 500 yards of the suspect.”

“But with a rifle and a scope, you won't get very far,” the official said.

It is the second time in about two months that a gunman has entered Trump's compound.

July 13NumberSuspect Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, killing one person and wounding two, including the former president, who was grazed in the ear by a bullet.
