Rep. Dan S. Goldman (D-N.Y.), a former aide to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and heir to the Levi Strauss fortune, said Wednesday that former President Donald Trump plans to “stage a coup” on Jan. 6, 2025, if he loses the election.
In his signature fundraising text messages, Goldman urges recipients to quickly donate to his campaign via his website (via ActBlue).
The message is below (donation link omitted):
Dan Goldman here with the latest important news on Donald Trump and New York. In just a few hours, Mr. Trump will be holding a rally in the key battleground state of Long Island.
Trump knows his campaign cannot win New York, but he also knows that the path to a majority in the House of Representatives runs directly through New York.
Why does he care? Because Mike Johnson, the architect of the plot to overturn the results of the 2020 election, will become Speaker of the House on January 6, 2025, and he hopes to stage a coup if he loses.
That cannot be tolerated.
Will you hurry up and donate money so we can flip the House of Representatives and install Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker on January 6th?
thank you,
Dan
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) outlined a scenario in which, if Trump does indeed win the election, Democrats could try to disqualify him from holding public office on January 6, 2025, by having Congress declare him guilty of insurrection and disqualify him from holding the presidency under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
Before running for Congress, Goldman was a notorious Russia hoaxer who spread lies about then-President Trump's “pee tape.”
