Kentucky State Police are working to identify a body found nearly two weeks ago near where a suspect opened fire on a vehicle near Exit 49 on Interstate 75, wounding multiple people, then fled into the woods and eluded authorities.
“Kentucky State Police troopers discovered a body near Exit 49 in Laurel County and detectives are currently working to identify the body,” Officer Scott Pennington with the Kentucky State Police said in a statement posted to X.
The update comes after a couple near Exit 49 stumbled across what appeared to be a body in the woods while livestreaming on YouTube account “Hatfield-McCoy Museum Adventures.”
“His condition is worsening!” the voice of the man who discovered him can be heard.
