An outspoken, married liberal commentator is facing shaming on social media after he published private text messages with Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina, who called him out for his political hypocrisy.
Michael Eric Dyson is a frequent liberal commentator on MSNBC whose exchange with Mace on CNN a few weeks ago led to his public humiliation.
Dyson claimed that people who mispronounce Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' name are racists, but Mace called it fake outrage. After a heated exchange on air, Mace accused Dyson of sending flirtatious messages to her over text.
“Professor Dyson wasn't all that upset after all. He was trying to get at me after he tried to call me a racist on CNN,” she said. Posts He posted screenshots of the text exchange on social media.
“Shhh don't tell anyone we look great together!” he messaged, adding a laughing and kissing emoji.
“Hahahaha,” she texted back.
“Well, your [sic] “That's what makes the photo so great!” he added, with a smiling face emoji.

Mr Dyson hit back with an angry message on social media to Mr Mace.
“Nancy Mace told absurd lies in anger that her callous disregard was being investigated in order to smear my name. [Kamala Harris]” he wrote.
“I only intended to be kind to her,” he added, “and all her white woman tears and lies serve lies and distortions. I was wrong about one thing: she's a bigot and a racist.”
The explanation was met with skepticism and ridicule.
“Brother, you were cheating on me with that woman. There was no need to text her anything. Any right-thinking woman, white or black, would have read it the same way.” said one Instagram commentator.
“Well, really? Nearly every woman in America would interpret it the same way she did, so if you didn't want her to interpret it that way, you shouldn't have even sent the message. In today's political climate, why give someone ammunition?” read Another reaction on Instagram.
