Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro Apologizes to Crew over Lost Jobs After Singer Perry Farrell’s Onstage Fight Shutters Tour

Jane's Addiction have cancelled the remaining dates of their US tour after frontman Perry Farrell assaulted the band's guitarist Dave Navarro onstage during a concert in Boston, Massachusetts, citing “mental health issues”.

“Due to lead singer Perry Farrell's ongoing pattern of behavior and mental health issues, we have concluded that we have no choice but to cancel our current U.S. tour,” the band announced in a social media post on Monday.

“Concerns for his own health and safety, and our own, left him with no other choice. We hope he finds the help he needs,” Jane's Addiction continued in the statement.

“We deeply apologize to our fans who have already purchased tickets for the disappointment caused,” the band added, “We do not see a solution that would ensure a safe environment onstage and consistently deliver a great performance every night.”

Navarro, Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Adam Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins also signed the statement, writing, “Our hearts are broken.”

In a separate post, the band said they would also offer refunds to fans who had purchased tickets for upcoming shows.

“Dear fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take some time off as a group. As a result, we are cancelling the remainder of our tour,” Jane's Addiction announced.

“Refunds for cancelled dates will be issued by your point of purchase, or if you purchased through a third-party resale site such as StubHub, SeatGeek, etc., please contact that site directly,” the band added.

Navarro publicly apologized to Jane's Addiction's crew, as well as the other bands who opened for him on the tour and their crews, in a statement on Instagram on Thursday, where he also released the audio for Jane's Addiction's latest single, “True Love.”

“Jane's Addiction's new song 'True Love' is out today and I'm proud of the work we've done on it but equally saddened by the fact that you'll probably never get to hear it live,” the guitarist told his 727,000 Instagram followers.

“I would also like to publicly apologize to our crew. Crawlers Band [Crawlers] and his crew @loveandrocketsofficial [Love and Rockets] And their crews,” Navarro continued.

“Thank you for being on our journey with us for so long. We are disappointed that it has ended this way and that so much work has been lost as a result. May we all heal,” the guitarist concluded in his statement.

As reported by Breitbart News, Jane's Addiction made headlines last Saturday during a concert after Pharrell assaulted Navarro onstage, after which staff members rushed onto the stage to try to break up the altercation.

It's unclear why Farrell seemed so upset with Navarro.
