Politico Admits Presidential Debate Failed to ‘Boost’ Kamala Harris

The second presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris failed to give the Democratic candidate any momentum. Politico pollsters acknowledged on Monday.

Politico The analysis contradicts existing media Claims After the debate, Harris saw a big increase in support.

Politico Stephen Shepherd Reported:

But polls suggest Harris' gains are only slight. National polls have expanded the Democratic lead by about a percentage point since the day of the debate, and Sunday's NBC News/CBS News national poll also showed Harris with a mid-single-digit lead. An average of three major polls showed Harris' national lead growing from 1.1 to 2.5 points on September 10 to 2.2 to 3 points after Sunday's new polls were added.

And while there's been a ton of battleground state data released in the past few days that suggests Harris' lead may be improving even further, a closer look at the seven core states makes it clear that her lead remains very small and fragile, especially considering how pollsters have underestimated Trump in recent elections.

Overall, Harris holds an average lead of more than one point in only two battleground states. In five other states, at least one poll average has her lead within one point.

As Breitbart News reported, five polls following last week's debate showed that it worked in Trump's favor.

  1. Siena/The New York TimesTrump and Harris are tied nationally
  2. EmersonTrump leads Harris in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin and Arizona
  3. The Washington PostTrump and Harris are tied in head-to-head race in Pennsylvania
  4. signal/Carolina Journal: Trump leads Harris by one in North Carolina
  5. RasmussenTrump leads Harris by 1 point

All of these polls were conducted in the midst of the second assassination attempt on President Trump on September 15th and did not fully take into account the impact of that horrific event.

This suggests that Trump will face more favorable polling ratings in the coming weeks.

ABC News Presidential Debate

RMG Research release A major poll conducted Friday showed that Trump's approval rating has increased by two points nationwide since the debate and the second assassination attempt.

On Monday, Trump held a five-point lead in Arizona, a four-point lead in Georgia and was flat in North Carolina. The New York Times/Poll for the Siena University rector election.

Polls suggest Harris faces a tough math to win the November election. The polls show Trump leading in Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, which would be enough to secure the 270 electoral votes even without Nevada or Michigan. Conversely, the Emerson poll shows Trump winning Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania, which would be enough to secure the election even without North Carolina, Nevada and Michigan.
