President Biden will be giving a live interview on daytime talk show “The View,” becoming the first sitting commander in chief to do so, co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced Monday.
“I have great news for you,” Goldberg said on Monday's show.
“This Wednesday, I am honored to welcome the current President of the United States, Joe Biden. [who] “You'll be joining us live on The View,” she revealed, calling it a “historic announcement.”
“Let's not forget, he's still the president of the United States,” Goldberg reminded the studio audience.
Biden will be the first sitting president to appear on ABC's show since former President Barack Obama's pre-taped appearance in July 2010.
The 81-year-old president's studio visit will mark his 10th appearance on the long-running women's show, which began airing in 1997.
ABC said in a press release that Biden will talk about “his accomplishments, including the accomplishments of his administration, his hopes for his remaining months in the White House and the state of the 2024 campaign.”
Biden is scheduled to appear on the set of “The View” in New York City alongside Goldberg and co-hosts Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farrah Griffin and Ana Navarro.
