Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to unveil a plan to entice foreign companies to relocate their manufacturing to the United States in a speech in Savannah, Georgia, on Tuesday.
Breitbart News reported that Trump's speech at 1 p.m. ET will focus on the loss of American jobs and prosperity as domestic companies set up shop in other countries and overseas.
President Trump is expected to unveil details of his plan to reverse that trend by bringing companies operating in other countries, bringing trillions of dollars of wealth, to the United States.
A senior Trump adviser said Trump's proposal outlines a business-friendly policy stance, including a 15% corporate tax rate, deregulation, affordable energy and federal land if needed. Additionally, Trump envisions Savannah becoming a preeminent export port on the world stage.
But companies that don't manufacture their products in the US will be subject to tariffs, and Trump is expected to say the money this frees up for the Treasury will be used to help the American people.
Trump is expected to tout his plan as raising wages, creating millions of jobs and reviving American manufacturing.
Trump will also contrast his economic plan with Vice President Kamala Harris's record of radical environmental policies, her and President Joe Biden's excessive spending tactics that have caused inflation, and Harris' plan to roll back the Trump tax cuts.
“President Trump's first term delivered explosive economic growth and unparalleled success for both American workers and businesses, and his second term will be even more transformative and beneficial,” a senior adviser to Trump said in a statement to Breitbart News.
“But unless we stop the anti-worker, anti-business onslaught from Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, our country will never recover,” the senior adviser added.
Senior advisers said Trump and his next administration, if he wins the White House, will make attracting businesses to the United States a priority.
The speech came the day after the president declared that he would impose a 200% tariff on imports of John Deere products if the company moves its manufacturing to Mexico.
