Israel Kills Hezbollah Missile Commander in Airstrike in Beirut

Israel killed Hezbollah missile commander Ibraham al-Qubaisi in an airstrike on Tuesday in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiya, an attack that was apparently confirmed by Lebanese intelligence sources.

Reuters Reported:

A Hezbollah commander and leading rocket force commander was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern outskirts of Beirut on Tuesday, two Lebanese security sources said, amid growing fears of a full-scale war in the Middle East.

The source identified the slain commander as Ibrahim Qubaisi. The attack, which killed six people, dealt a new blow to the Iranian-backed group, which has faced a series of setbacks at the hands of Israel in the past week.

Israel has targeted senior Hezbollah figures for several days, eliminating many of leader Hassan Nasrallah's subordinates.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Helgi Halevi vowed Tuesday that Israel would not rest in its attacks on Hezbollah as Israeli airstrikes continued. said It reached 1,600 cases in one day.

Israel aims to drive Hezbollah back from Israel's border and allow Jewish and Arab residents of northern Israel who were forced to flee when Hezbollah opened fire last October to return to their homes.

Hezbollah illegally occupies southern Lebanon.
