“Mr. Marshall was partially naked and standing over the couple, which woke the homeowners up,” Maj. Ron Martin of the North County Police Cooperative Association told the station. More specifically, Mr. Marshall was naked from the waist down. KMOV-TV reported..

“She ordered her husband to leave,” KDSK reported, citing court documents.

But Marshall “lunged at the homeowner and threatened to shoot me,” KDSK added, citing court documents.

“We found his pants on the porch of their house,” Maj. Martin told KDSK about Marshall.

KDSK reported that the couple and their two children, ages 5 and 10, were not injured, and that Marshall left a trail of blood inside the couple's home.

At the time, investigators didn't know why the suspect, who lives about six miles away in Wellston, targeted the family's home, according to KDSK.

“Missouri law clearly gives homeowners the right to protect themselves, especially while on their own property,” St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell said in a statement to KDSK.
