Scaramucci: Trump 'has lost his fighting spirit'

Anthony Scaramucci, former White House communications director under former President Donald Trump, said the president had “lost his fighting spirit” and did not appear to want a second debate with Vice President Harris.

“I thought it was a ploy for President Harris not to want to debate, but it seems he has lost his fighting spirit. Something is wrong,” Scaramucci wrote. post on social platform X on Monday.

Scaramucci's post appears to be a reversal of previous comments he has made about whether Trump would be willing to debate Harris again.

Scaramucci, an outspoken critic of President Trump, appeared as Harris' guest at the ABC News presidential debate earlier this month.

Asked for comment, Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Chung noted that Scaramucci only served 10 days as White House communications director and said, “Nobody is going to listen to someone who's had less than an expired ham sandwich.”

Harris told reporters she would like to have another debate, just like last weekend, The Hill reported.

On September 12, two days after Harris and Trump's first debate, Trump said there would be no second debate this election cycle.

“THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE,” Trump posted in all capital letters on Truth Social.
