Armed crook demands wallet, cell phone from man. But it turns out victim has a gun, too — and it doesn’t end well for bad guy.

A man with a gun approached another man on the street in Henderson, Nevada over the weekend and demanded his wallet and cellphone. The City of Henderson reportedHowever, the victim also had a gun and shot and killed the gunman, authorities said.

According to authorities, the Henderson Police Department and Fire Department responded to a report of a shooting just before 4 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Wellness Place.

Authorities said the 33-year-old man who fired the gun remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.

Authorities said multiple 911 calls reported hearing gunshots and seeing a man lying on the ground.

According to authorities, detectives have tentatively determined that an unknown man with a gun approached a 33-year-old man in a confrontational manner and demanded his cellphone and wallet.

You never know who's carrying a gun these days, but it turns out the victim in this case did have a gun, and apparently he was quick to pull it out as well.

Authorities said a 33-year-old man, fearing for his life, fired multiple shots from a gun, striking the unidentified man.

Police and paramedics attempted life-saving measures but the unidentified man died at the scene, authorities said. No one else was injured, they added.

Authorities said detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide and the Clark County Coroner's Office will release the identity, cause and circumstances of the man's death after notifying next of kin.
