Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called for Mayor Eric Adams to resign as a federal investigation cripples his administration.
Left-handed “Squad” members Tweeted On Wednesday, he called on Mayor Adams to resign “for the good of the city.”
“I don't know how Mayor Adams can continue to govern New York City,” she wrote to X.
“The proliferation of resignations and vacancies threatens the functioning of government. Constant vetting will make it impossible to recruit and retain competent civil servants.”
Adams is facing a wave of high-profile resignations after federal agents raided the homes of some of his top officials and aides on Sept. 4.
Former New York Police Commissioner Edward Cabana resigned a week after being investigated by the federal government.
This week alone, health director-general Ashwin Vasan and education director-general David Banks, whose home was also searched, announced they would step down by the end of the year.
