“Unite for America” is an event hosted by Oprah Winfrey, which invited Kamala Harris to speak as a star guest.
The event also featured Americans who were given the opportunity to voice their concerns about what was happening in their country, but Harris understandably struggled to give a straight answer.
“If you become president, what are the specific steps you will take to strengthen the border?” one man named Justin asked Harris.
“My background, as you know, was as a prosecutor,” Harris began. “So this is not a theoretical problem for me, it's something I've been working on in practice.”
“I take very seriously the importance of having secure borders,” she continued.
Pat Gray from “Pat Gray Unleashed” isn't satisfied with her answer.
“Can we talk about the fact that you're currently the vice president of the United States and you're tasked with monitoring the border? Ha! Would you like to talk about that? I'll tell you why. Because millions and thousands “A million people have crossed that line looking at your watch,” Gray says.
Oprah joined in at one point to elicit laughs from attendees when Harris admitted she was a “gun owner” and pretended to be shocked that Harris would own a gun. Sometimes it happened.
“I didn't know that,” Oprah exclaimed, drawing laughter from the audience.
“If someone breaks into my house, I'm going to get shot,” Harris confirmed, before laughing and saying, “Maybe I shouldn't have said that.”
