Julius Randle’s wife looks ahead to ‘new’ chapter after shocking trade

It's “bittersweet” for Julius Randle and his family to say goodbye to New York, but his wife, Kendra, is looking ahead to a “new healthy chapter” following Friday's stunning Knicks-Timberwolves trade.

On Saturday, on her Instagram Story, Kendra, who has been married to the 6-foot-8 forward-center for seven years, revealed that she was at Madison Square Garden while planning a new start in Minnesota, where the Knicks are based. “I will be forever grateful for this experience. New York has been a wonderful place for our family,” Kendra began. “[Son] Kye Kye grew up in the garden. This is a bittersweet moment, but we are so excited to begin a new healthy chapter for our family. ”

Kendra, who has two sons with Randle, 29, also reposted a series of heartfelt messages from Knicks fans, including actor Ben Stiller.

“Thank you for his time here. He's an All-Star and we're lucky to have him. We wish him the best of luck in Minnesota. He brings a lot of toughness, grit and dedication to that team and community. “We'll bring it,” Stiller concluded. his long x post“Well said, thank you,” Kendra replied.

Kendra's message on Saturday follows her initial reaction to the blockbuster, posted earlier in the day.

A first-round pick of the Lakers in 2014, Randle spent four seasons in Los Angeles before signing with the Pelicans in 2018.

He signed a three-year, $63 million contract with the Knicks in July of the following year and received a four-year, $117 million contract extension in 2021, averaging 22.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in his five seasons with the team. Recorded.

Randle underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in the spring and missed the playoffs, but the Knicks advanced to the second round, losing in seven games to the Indiana Pacers.

He said in June that his recovery was progressing “ahead of schedule” and that he would be back in time to start the season.
