The Tom Brady sweepstakes garnered attention during the 2020 offseason.

Brady decided to leave the New England Patriots and eventually signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ultimately leading the team to a Super Bowl title over the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes.

While calling Sunday's Buccaneers-Philadelphia Eagles game, Brady revealed that the Chicago Bears are among the suitors interested in his quarterback job.

“At the end of the day, Chicago was a team — and I've never told that story before — that they were very stealthy in their recruiting,” Brady said. fox sports. “I was seriously considering them.

The Bears' involvement in Brady's free agent market was the first time anyone heard about it. The Buccaneers, Los Angeles Chargers, and Miami Dolphins were rumored to be interested in Brady.

The San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders also might have been considered possible landing spots, but each team was already tied to a QB1.

The Bears never really appeared.

“You know what? They really got attention,” Brady added. “And no one would have known that. Free agency is hard, and once you make a decision, you can't look back. So there's no reason to tell anyone that.”

Chicago went 8-8 in 2020, losing in the wild-card round of the playoffs to Mitchell Trubisky. The team had Justin Fields then and now Caleb Williams.
