Seattle Storm star Gabby Williams has pulled out of women's professional basketball, pointing out that even rookie star Kaitlyn Clark is not being paid enough in the WNBA.

She played for the French national team in Tokyo in 2021, but was ineligible for the Chicago Sky because of it. When Williams missed several games and practices in the United States because she was playing with the French team in Tokyo, the Sky suspended her and traded her to the Los Angeles Sparks. She won the bronze medal that year.
